adidas and Wales Bonner’s first collaborative collection explores ‘70s subcultures from the perspective of Caribbean youth in London. And that’s especially clear with this artisanal version of the iconic Samba. It’s far removed from its sporting roots, with inspiration taken from both Wales Bonner’s own British-Jamaican heritage and the German label’s Freizeit line from the decade. Crochet-like uppers are overlaid with supple brown leather — a true lifestyle-focused combination — and finished with a cloudy rubber sole.
