New Balance looks towards its Tokyo Design Studio once again this season, using four defining principles – precision, nature, sports craft and protection – to put a conceptual spin on the mid-‘80s 1300. Named the R_C1300, this version shares an upper with the OG – coloured to a distinctive marble-like blue – but has a drastically altered sole, instead favouring a beefed-up unit that combines ENCAP® and ABZORB® technology with Vibram® rubber.
