Virgil Takes Off-White Back To Its Roots for SS19

Virgil Abloh takes Off-White back to the label's youthful roots for SS19 with a collection that celebrates icons of rebellion Bart Simpson and Jim Stark - available now at END.

For the first collection produced after his appointment as the Artistic Director at Louis Vuitton Homme, Off-White founder Virgil Abloh siezed the opportunity to take the label back to its streetwear roots for SS19.

Speaking to Vogue, the Chicago-native explained that the appointment at Louis Vuitton had provided the opportunity for Virgil to compartmentalise: leaving the highfalutin fashion pageantry to the Parisian house's output and freeing up creative space and energy for the designer to revel once more in the street-led youthful spirit that characterised the early Off-White narrative.

Returning to graphic tees, sweats, and denim, Virgil celebrates the 17-year-old skate-kid of his youth with his SS19 collection. Delivering a contemporary interpretation of the uniform of teenage rebellion, Off-White this season called upon disparate icons of these ideals (from Jim Stark to Bart Simpson) delivering a fresh array of luxury streetwear which reflect the New Guard ethos of the label.

A welcomed return to the graphics-heavy millennial irony which catapulted Off-White to the forefront of global fashion, the first drop of SS19 is now available at END.
