The same, but different, adidas Originals by Alexander Wang visits the iconic Superstar this season; transforming the ‘80s classic with a collection of ‘wrong’ details and unexpected design. Channelling a classic skate shoe with thick laces and gum rubber on the sole, the Skate Super subverts the norm; flipping adidas’ shell toe with its barcode on the exterior, while the iconic Trefoil sits upside-down. Splicing fragments from the adidas archives with modern Alexander Wang touches, the Skate Super sees its sole split into three separate colours; interrupting traditional practice with elements that weren’t meant to mix.
