Carhartt WIP has travelled a long way. Founded in 1994 by Edwin Faeh, the label took the hard-wearing foundations of original Carhartt workwear and introduced them to an entirely new audience. What followed was less a rebrand and more a cultural movement. From late-'90s hip hop videos and skate spots to Berlin techno clubs and contemporary art spaces, the iconic C logo has become a fixture far beyond the environments that Carhartt was originally designed for.
That journey continues today through a collection built on authentic workwear principles and reinterpreted for modern life. Carhartt WIP remains one of the rare brands equally comfortable in a workshop, a record store or a city street. Not many labels can claim that sort of versatility, and even fewer can claim it so convincingly.
