Undoubtedly one of the most influential designers of the last three decades, Helmut Lang and his namesake label set out to reshape fashion, and let's be honest, he didn't disappoint! Designing clothing in 1977 with no design education, Lang turned from business student to fashion entrepreneur in 1986 when he founded his eponymous label and moved to Paris.  

Helmut Lang created forward-thinking fashion through a creative and contemporary lens, built upon his three key pillars: "Utility, Civility, and Deviance." From this, Helmut Lang became the first designer to showcase his collection online in 1998, using the platform to 

Lang’s legacy of creating uniforms for the creative class is still ever-present, following on from his departure from the industry to pursue his art career in 2005. 

Now based out of NYC as an in-house collective, the multi-disciplinary brand has reclaimed its cult-like following for its "quintessential minimalist" designs that originally took the fashion world by storm in the late eighties.
