Embarking on an unorthodox collaboration with Nike, London-based designer Martine Rose gets into gear this season to revamp the Swooshes all-American Air Monarch IV. Dressed in all-black, this distorted pair display oversized patent uppers that spill over the base at the side and heel – taking their inspiration from how an athletes body develops according to their profession. Motivated by trans-Atlantic influences, the sneaker takes ‘Dad shoe’ styling to the next level, with its abstract look guaranteeing that heads will be turned with every stride. Imbued classically with full-length Air cushioning underfoot, this chunky pair are completed with robust Phylon and rubber tooling underfoot.
