New York based Batten Sportswear combines hardy American fabrics with beach and mountain inspired styling to create a fresh, easy-to-wear collection of highly functional apparel and accessories. Batten designer Shinya Hasegawa spent four years under the tutelage of Engineered Garments' Daiki Suzuki before setting up his own label.

The Three Layer Insulated Vest is a classic mountain gilet made from a rugged cotton twill outer, with a durable ripstop nylon lining and thick quilted insulation for lightweight warmth. There are two insulated hand pockets on the front, with a slanted zip closure pocket on the chest. The Vest has a pop stud placket, with a high stance collar for extreme weather. A brilliantly versatile layering piece for colder weather.
