For his SS12 Authentic collection, Nigel has taken particular inspiration from the clothing worn by the Desert Rats - British troops stationed in North Africa during WWII, under the command of General Montgomery. Many familiar pieces from previous Authentic collections make a welcome return, updated with new detailing, fabrics and colour combinations inspired by the Desert Rats.
Taking equal inspiration from classic seafaring smocks and outerwear worn by British troops during WWII, the Shirt Jacket Smock is an overhead jacket design with four buttoned flap pockets. The smock is finished in true Cabourn style, constructed from a lightweight cotton/linen military drill with selvage detailing.
