To celebrate their tenth anniversary, Australian trainer experts Sneaker Freaker are teaming up with some of the most recognisable and revered names in footwear to bring you reworked versions of genuine cult classics. One of such colab is with Saucony, comprising a reworking of the classic Grid 9000 runner, neatly following on from Pennsylvanian brand’s recent collaboration with Packers.
Dubbed the ‘Bushwhacker’, this understated release features some subtle changes to the original silhouette, whilst still utilising the key features of the original design. Perhaps most notable is the black and mint ‘Tiffany’ inspired colourway, which is broken up by a speckle finished mid-sole unit, which is a unashamed nod to the 90’s. The uppers are a made from a combination of mesh underlays with premium suede overlays, offset with a comfortable yet durable neoprene tongue. Another striking detail is the tonal spring loaded lace lock which adds extra functionality to the tubular lace set without being too garish or out of place. As ever, the famed G.R.I.D. cushioning sole unit finishes the shoe, with the iconic ‘window’ system in the heel of the outersole.
The Saucony x Sneaker Freaker Grid 9000 is available to buy instore and online from 1000 BST on Friday 29th June, 2012. To register your interest, please email us at email@example.com or call us on +44 191 231 3983.
