Nike have a long history of out of this world designs and have had more involvement with extra terrestrial life forms than any other sneaker brand we can name. In keeping with this and in celebration of the NBA’s mid season weekend the swoosh have opened the doors on their fictitious ‘Area 72’ testing facility and released an incredibly limited pack of reworked versions of some of their most popular basketball silhouettes.

For this Quickstrike release, the Blazer Mid, Vandal Premium, Air Force Max 2013, Lunar Force 1 Fuse and Barkley Posite Max have been infused with textures, colourways and detailing that have never been used on these shoes before. Every single one of the shoes in this highly anticipated pack has been given a breathtaking make over but one thing remains the same, each one retains the groundbreaking technology and design which made them such a success in the first place.

Texture has played an enormous role in the design of this pack, with cracked and textured patterned leather on the Blazer Mid and speckled uppers on the Barkley Posite Max. Galactic prints feature on the Lunar Force 1 and Air Force Max 2013 and the Vandal Premium features the luminescent soles that many of the shoes in this pack sit on.

One of the uniting features of this pack is the Ray Gun character which sits on the tongue of all of every ‘Area 72’ shoe. Tying together the theme, this iconic symbol is the is the mascot for Nike’s ficiticious Basketball team, the Roswell Rayguns.

The Area 72 Pack is set to be one of the most popular releases this year and every single shoe launches at 00:01 on Saturday 16th of Febrary from the new Nike launch section of our website. We are expecting every single pair to fly, hover or even teleport out of our doors before you can blink.
